My second interview with Politics365, an Iranian-American television station broadcasting from California. In this interview, which was devoted to the Hamas-Israeli conflict, I provided a short history of the conflict from the time of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, to the establishment of the Israeli state in 1948, followed by the Six-Day war, UN resolutions calling on Israel to withdraw from the occupied territories in the West Bank, Gaza and the Golan Heights, the Oslo Accords calling for the establishment of a Self-Governing Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and Gaza, the rise of Hamas and the latest war.
I also said that the unification of Europe after two devastating world wars, the Good Friday Agreement which brought peace to Northern Ireland after decades of conflict between the IRA and the British government, and the ending of the Apartheid regime in South Africa are examples that can provide hope for a future resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
